    <content type="html">Since most folks haven't really heard of furries, it's probably best to start this thing off with a basic definition of what furry fandom is actually all about:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;blockquote&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.xydexx.com/anthrofurry/"&gt;Furry fandom&lt;/a&gt; is a meta-genre that originated from the science fiction and fantasy fandoms. Members of the furry fandom, known as furry fans, collect items featuring anthropomorphic animals characters&amp;mdash;commonly known as &lt;a href="http://www.coolfurries.com"&gt;furries&lt;/a&gt;. "Anthropomorphic" means having human traits (such as walking on two feet, talking, wearing clothes, living in houses, etc.). Such items may include popular animated cartoons, comic books, artwork, stories, and costumes.
